Need to waste some time this week? Here's some ideas for you (the last one is just posted as a public service to the fans of Cold (cough)
Measure for measure - This is a great "blog" from the NY Times which shows how some musicians (Andrew Bird, Darrell Brown, Rosanne Cash, Suzanne Vega) go about writing songs. It's really fascinating to see how they put their songs together and the thoughts and emotions behind them.
Madonna concert - Coinciding with the release of her new album, Hard Candy, MSN will webcast a free concert by Madonna this Wednesday.
Free song from Coldplay - One week before it goes on sale, Coldplay will let fans download a song from their new album, Viva La Vida, starting 7:15 a.m. EDT Tuesday.
Meanwhile, my allergies are kicking in big time. My eyes are red and watering. My nose is stuffed and sore. I feel like ten day old oatmeal.
And, to top it all off, it was, like, 900 degrees in my bedroom last night.
That tells me that summer has definitely arrived. Which means it's time for me to get organized and put together a summer music list so I can spend the next four months annoying little old ladies in their '92 Cadillac Sevilles.
Before I do that, I need to go get me some Sudafed. I sure hope I don't end up on some Fed narc list or something...
Until then, I feel Radioactive (The Firm - live 1986) and I Wanna Be Sedated (The Bodeans - live 1988). Boy, it's going to be a Long Hot Summer (The Style Council - live 1984)
